CTWW is a very active organisation made up of ten churches. The ten churches span six denominations – Church of England, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Baptist and Kerith West Wight Community Church. Each church is invited to elect 2 representatives who attend the monthly meetings to plan CTWW events and share news from their churches. The Council meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm for 7.30 p.m. start at the Colwell Baptist Church Hall. All welcome!
The St Swithin’s Church, Thorley representatives are Andrew Liddiard and Sam Powell
The following information describes some of the activities presently running under the banner of CTWW.
CTWW – Taking the Church Into The Community
In today’s world, there is no expectation that the community will come to the churches. Following the example of Jesus we need to be out in the community meeting people, supporting them where they are and where the need is greatest, sharing the love of God in practical ways. By taking the love of God out into the community, we hope to show that Jesus is relevant to the lives of everyone.
CTWW – Care Homes Ministry
Several of our local care homes are partnered with Christ Church via the CTWW Care Homes Ministry. Lay leadership members of Christ Church lead services at Inglefield and Little Hayes on a regular basis. This ministry is coordinated by our Anna Chaplain, Anne Powell.
CTWW – Youth Project – Working With Young People
Seen as one of the most important areas of CTWW ministry, CTWW employs Faye Smith our youth worker, to communicate with the young church of today through fun activities, food and learning.
