This will be her first visit to the White Horse Team. Lammas comes from the Old English word for “loaf mass” and celebrates the first fruits of the Harvest. Traditionally, a loaf of bread is made from the first grain of the Harvest and brought to church to be blessed, symbolising gratitude to God for the harvest and for the sustenance it provides. There will be a special service at the Tin Church on Sunday 3 August at 6.00 pm. Everyone is welcome. We shall be bringing a loaf of bread to this service and there will be some refreshments afterwards. This is part of a series of services celebrating Rural Festivals in our most rural setting. We hope you will come and join us.

A big THANK YOU to all those who responded to our Gift Day last month. It was very encouraging. In terms of one-off donations, we received approximately £2600 in gifts. A number of people have also increased their regular giving, which is very encouraging. I will be writing to people soon to thank you for your one-off gift. However, there were a few anonymous gifts, so if this is you please accept our very grateful thanks for your support.Just a gentle reminder that if you have not got round to responding yet, please do so as soon as you can. It’s not too late! We can accept your gift at any time.Thank you for your support.Rebecca
