Yorkshire Born & Bred: Farming Life is a special exhibition of Valerie Mather’s striking photographs exploring the people, families and everyday working lives of Yorkshire’s farming communities. Celebrating Yorkshire Churches Day and Heritage Open Days, the exhibition offers a glimpse into a way of life shaped by the land, the seasons and generations of experience.
Come and explore the exhibition and enjoy homemade cakes and hot and cold drinks from our pop-up café. The day concludes at 4pm with the closing service of the Saint Aelred’s Pilgrim Trail Gathering Walk. Free entry and everyone is welcome.

Join us for Saint Aelred’s Pilgrim Trail Gathering Walk – a day of walking, reflection and companionship through the beautiful landscape of Upper Ryedale. This year we’ll be exploring the Everyday Histories of Saint Aelred, journeying from Hawnby through Old Byland and past Rievaulx Abbey before finishing at All Saints’ Helmsley.
You’re welcome to walk the whole pilgrimage or join us at one of the stopping points along the way. The day concludes with a closing service at All Saints’ Helmsley at 4pm, to which everyone is warmly invited.

The Parish Eucharist at All Saints': Common Worship with hymns accompanied by the organ. Toys, books and colouring sheets are available for younger members of our congregation in the Webster Room (at the back of church, under the tower). The service is followed by refreshments at the back of church.
The church bells are rung before the service.
All are welcome, both to the service and to join us for refreshments.

A gentle, supportive space to sit with others who understand. Whether your loss is recent or many years past, you are welcome to come for conversation, quiet, and a cup of tea.

Hearts and Crafts is a friendly afternoon of knitting, crocheting, sewing and crafting together, creating hearts in all sorts of styles for our Hearts Full of Love Christmas Tree Festival. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re an experienced crafter or just enjoy making things in good company. Tea, cake, conversation and encouragement are all part of the afternoon.

Gather your team of four for a fun Harvest Quiz Night at All Saints’ Helmsley. Enjoy an evening of questions, cheese and friendly competition, with a glass of wine and cheese included in the ticket price. Tickets are £15 per person, with proceeds going towards the Church Roof Fund.

A joyful celebration of Harvest shared by the churches of Helmsley, Upper Ryedale and Helmsley Methodist Church. We’ll give thanks for the harvest and for those who work on the land and produce our food, with a particular focus on our local farming community. The service will be led by Chris Shore and Revd Mel Burnside and followed by a hot lunch. Everyone is very welcome.

Features sung psalms, canticles and an anthem. Led by the Helmsley Chamber Choir.

A service of remembrance to mark the anniversary of the signing of the agreement that marked the end of World War I. People should assemble by 10.45 a.m. in the churchyard by the War Memorial (to the left of the main path from the lychgate to the church door). A two-minute silence will be observed at 11.00 a.m. as a tribute to the sacrifices the armed forces have made to defend the cause of freedom. After this the service will continue in church.

Hearts Full of Love – Helmsley Christmas Tree Festival will fill All Saints’ with beautifully decorated Christmas trees celebrating the people, places and things we love about our businesses, organisations and community. Come and enjoy the displays, soak up the Christmas atmosphere and visit our pop-up café on Saturdays. Entry to the festival is free, with donations welcomed in support of All Saints’ Church and the British Heart Foundation.
The festival opens on Friday 27 November, following the Helmsley Christmas Lights Switch-On, with a special opening service at 6pm involving Helmsley Community Primary School.
