A group of 6 parishes including Howden, Eastrington, Wressle, Newport and Gilberdyke, Laxton and Blacktoft. At present we are in a vacancy and have no Rector but we do have 1 Licenced Lay Minister and 2 Authorised Lay Ministers. Services are continuing as normal with visiting clergy who are also covering occasional services such as weddings, christenings and funerals.
Our Benefice is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops’ guidance and policies and have our own Benefice Safeguarding Officer. Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contracts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our SO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the SO Mrs Sue Nicholson [email protected] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor [email protected]. If you have immediate concerns aobut the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
