Hello from Rev'd Gillian.Time certainly seems to be flying by! All of a sudden we're into summer, which means we're getting a little closer to our move and joining the Benefice of East Dere Street. Scott (my husband), Andrew our youngest (18), and I are very much looking forward to moving into The Rectory in Middleton Tyas later in August along with our springador Benji. Scott and I have been married for 28 years, and we have three children...Helen who is 23 and about to begin an organ scholarship at Chelmsford Cathedral; James who is 20 and in his second year at Sheffield university studying Maths, and loving playing in the university big band with his guitar; and Andrew who is finishing his A Levels at Richmond School and Sixth Form before starting at The Royal College of Music in London in September, with his trombone. Scott is due to be ordained deacon at Wakefield Cathedral on Saturday 28th June and begin his curacy at Penhill Benefice (Redmire, Aysgarth, etc), as a self-supporting minister, teaching maths three days a week at Richmond School and Sixth Form and serving as curate three days a week. So there's plenty going on! And plenty going on across the Benefice of East Dere Street in this time of vacancy. The work which everyone is doing, and the dedication which everyone has is so impressive. Thank you. As we all prepare for all that lies ahead, please know that Scott and I are very much looking forward to this new season in our lives, and the people in the Benefice of East Dere Street are in our prayers. We would very much value your prayers as we prepare for all that lies ahead. With blessings Gillian
