We are delighted that you are exploring our website, which provides information on our services, activities, the church building, the parish history and lots more.

We are a friendly, welcoming congregation that invites you to join us in worship every Sunday. The Book of Common Prayer is used at each of our regular services.

Following our period of interregnum, we are delighted to announce that The Revd Pippa White has been appointed as Rector of the Benefice of Newport with Longford, and Chetwynd. Pippa will take up her ministry with us in October, and we look forward with joy and anticipation to welcoming her into the benefice and beginning this new chapter together. We give thanks for God’s faithfulness throughout this period of vacancy, and for the dedication of all who have supported the life of our church.

We keep the following prayer close in our hearts and minds:

Gracious God, we give thanks for your guiding hand in the life of this benefice, and for the faithful service of all who have cared for your people in Newport with Longford, and Chetwynd. We rejoice in the appointment of Revd Pippa White as Rector, and we pray for her as she prepares to begin this new chapter of ministry among us.

Bless Pippa with wisdom, compassion, and joy in her calling. May her deep love for your church and her pastoral heart help us to grow together in faith, hope, and fellowship. Grant her strength in times of challenge, and delight in the shared life of these communities.

We thank you for the generosity and prayerful discernment of all who have served through the vacancy, for their hospitality, care, and steadfast faith. Continue to bless this benefice with unity and grace, that we may welcome Pippa warmly and walk forward together in the light of Christ’s love.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord,

Amen.
