Roof repairs - why now?All Saints Church is the oldest building in Horsford, a church has been on the site for over 900 and has faithfully served the village through weddings, baptisms, saying goodbye to loved ones, Sunday services and involvement in community projects, and it continues in faithful service to this day.The church roof is however now in need of urgent repairs, it leaks rainwater inside, it needs weatherproofing, new roof drains, new gutters and a new thatch roof. We need to raise £50,000 to do the repairs.How you can helpRaising £50,000 is a big task for a small church congregation but we have already managed to raise £10,000 towards the overall roof repairs project.Giving £21 would sponsor a bundle of reed thatch - we need about 1,000 bundles to rethatch the roof.Giving £25 would help towards making the roof watertight and weather-proof again.Giving £50 would help towards replacing ancient and leaking gutters with new glamorous and fit for purpose gutters.Ways to giveYou can give online. From Mrs Kirton, head of School ... It has been very emotional saying goodbye to our Year 6 pupils this week. They may be a very small year group, but they certainly impressed Reverend Margaret at Horsford Church on Monday when their singing rose the roof. Listening to the memories of the children, Reverend Margaret and Miss Blyth along with my own, helped to remind us all just how far this year group have come. Leavers Assembly: Revd Margaret distributed the Bibles to all year 6 children, funded form the Lord Wharton Trust and a special prayer for year 6 leavers published by the Diocese of Norwich. She then had fun as many o the children asked her to sign a special T shirt or book full of year 6 and staff autographs!
