Although the ground-stage ladder remains to be fitted, the silence chamber floor has been renewed, as have the sound openings. A new belfry floor is in place and John, the bell, made his way back from Somerset just in time to call people to worship at our Christmas carol service on 21 December! The number of delighted comments from villagers has been surprising – there is real joy at hearing the bell sounding across the countryside.

We are grateful to all those who helped fund this project. The fund included two legacies, donations, money from fund-raising activities and grants from a number of charitable trusts and foundations.
