Charlie is a brilliant speaker, yarn spinner, entertainer and a fount of information on a multitude of subjects.

He brings this subject alive with a combination of his own rakish wit and an encyclopaedic knowledge of the roots and development of our native tongue.

There will be an interval with refreshments, a Q&A session at the end and Charlie will bring a selection his books for sale.

This is Charlie’s third appearance in Bergh Apton Church. We would have liked to book him in future years but sadly (for us), he retires at the end of 2025, so it would be a pity to miss this chance to see him!
