Geldeston churchyard provides a wonderful area for wildlife including slow worms, lizards grass snake. It is a special place for both wildlife and people and is included as one of Norfolk Wildlife Trusts’ churchyard conservation scheme. To help maintain the wildlife conservation value, the church yard needs to be managed: letting the wildflower grassland set flowers and seeds.
Once cut the grassland needs to be raked off to reduce the build up of nutrients. You are invited to come along on Saturday morning with rake. gloves and secateurs in hand to help with the raking. Many hands make lightwork! Home made cake will be provided for the rakers. Its good fun and exercise green gym !
