Safeguarding

The Winfarthing and Upper Waveney Benefice is committed to safeguarding children, young people, and adults from harm. We follow the Church of England’s guidance and policies, and each of our churches has a Safeguarding Officer. Our Diocese of Norwich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer who advises our parish Safeguarding Officer.

If you have information about a safeguarding situation where a child or adult is in immediate danger or requires immediate medical attention you should call the police on 999.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk from harm, please contact the parish Safeguarding Officers (details below), or the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer, Sue Brice on 01603 882345 [email protected]

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services. Further information can be found on the diocesan website Safeguarding – Diocese of Norwich

We take the Safeguarding of children and adults very seriously and our churches have adopted and upheld the CofE SG statement and policy. All our clergy, volunteers and visitors undertake Safeguarding training and our recruitment procedure follows the guidelines given by the CofE.
