About Us

We are part of the Earsham Benefice

THE CHURCHES

In Denton there is a shared ministry, an ecumenical project between the Anglican and United Reformed churches started in 1986. Services are shared between the two buildings, with one congregation meeting in two different buildings.

Services take place at St. Mary's church on the first and third Sunday's of the month and are the responsibility of the Earsham Benefice. On the first Sunday of the month we have our All-Age 'Time to Share' service. This starts from 9:30am with Coffee/Tea and cake with craft for the little ones followed by an informal service. On the third Sunday the service is a more traditional Holy Communion service at 9:30am.

On the second and fourth Sundays of the month the service is in the chapel and is the responsibility of the Waveney Valley Ecumenical Partnership. The services in the chapel are relatively informal.

To view more information about the chapel please visit www.wvep.co.uk/denton.php

A History of St Mary's can be found on the Village Website at www.denton-norfolk.co.uk/. St Mary's has recently installed toilets and a small kitchen, and plans are progressing well to increase the car park, improve the disabled access and enclose the porch to have a dedicated space for visitors to the church to find out more about the wonderful history of the building and all the uses it now has in the present.

VISITING and DIRECTIONS

For anyone wishing to spend a time of quiet or visit the church, the building is kept unlocked everyday during daylight hours.

The church is on the outskirts of the village to the south on Danacre Road (Google maps has it as Denton Road). There is a car park at the church. To find the car park you need to drive past the Old Rectory and the church will being front of you. For Sat Nav's the postcode is IP20 0AD but that may not take you exactly to the church door but will take you to the correct road. There are toilets at the church but these are kept locked when services are not taking place.
