Getting here

St. John's is a Victorian Church but with antecedents dating to the 14th Century in Harleston, but while it may be old it is very much alive today, with an active congregation, seeking to bring the joy of the Christian life to Harleston through Bible Adventurers in the Primary School, Sunday Bible Club, The Mothers' Union, The Friends of St. John the Baptist a registered charity whose aim is to maintain and restore the building "Our passion is Jesus, proclaiming and living out God's love for all people. We aspire to be a transforming presence in every community, open and welcoming to all, and serving all through faithful people, prayer and worship, visionary leadership and liberating gifts. To do this we seek to learn more about Jesus, to seek to live out His life, by loving others and Trusting in Him." We seek to do this through our regular services and through Prayer Groups. Also through Bible study groups that meet in the church every second Thursday of the month to study the Bible for in it we find our values for Christian living. We seek to further our aims through Missionary work in this country and abroad such as Compassion and the Pastoral Care Team, our Benefice Monthly Magazine, and also in co-operation with our fellow Christians in Harleston through Churches Together in Harleston
