Getting hereWelcome to St. Cuthbert’s, Thetford. We are a Parish Church in the Centre of the town and enjoy hosting Community Events and Civic Services. Most of our Worship is liturgical (Common Worship) with hymns led by the Organ and the robed choir. In addition to Sunday Services, which are a mix of Holy Communion, Morning Worship and All Age Worship, we also have a Midweek Communion Service (Wednesday mornings at 10.30am). We are a friendly, welcoming and open Church of a broadly Evangelical tradition.
Sunday school for children present at our services is based on Scripture Union stories and games, as appropriate for the children's ages.Coffee is served after the services, which encourages people to stay and catch up on parish news, or introduce themselves, if they are new. The church is also open on Saturday and Tuesday mornings for conversation with coffee!
If you would like to use St Cuthbert's Church or church hall for an event, please contact the clergy. See Contact Us.
BENEFICE OF THETFORD THETFORD TEAM MINISTRY
Appointment of Team Rector
A unique opportunity to further God’s work in a splendid location.
Thetford, the ancient capital of East Anglia and now the fourth largest town in Norfolk, set among thousands of acres of heath land and pine forest with the driest climate in the UK.
The challenge of a town facing continual growth and, with its satellite churches and accompanying villages, offering forms of worship across the range and opportunities and challenges to match.
The church buildings in our benefice are places where God is worshipped and the gospel of Jesus Christ is celebrated and proclaimed.
Our churches are the people who, nurtured by word and sacrament, are deepened in fellowship in the pilgrimage of faith and draw others to the love of God and further His Kingdom through service.
