We acknowledge the passing, October 2023, of a faithful and lifelong friend of St Martin's Church, Hindringham.Churchwarden since 1987, and PCC member for more than half a century. A devoted servant of the church and all that it stands for. A carpenter by profession, Roy constructed personally the church candelabra and the porch doors, and was practical and caring in many ways. He will be dearly missed by the church family as well as the village community, having lived in Hindringham his entire life. The photo shows Roy on his wedding day (to wife Esme, who survives him) at St Martin's, 1977.
Our Norwich Diocese Authorised Worship Assistant ministry licences lay men and women to lead services such as Evensong and Matins and take active roles in assisting. James has been a faithful altar server since the 1950s and now takes his role a step further. We are grateful for his willing service. One of James' passions is researching church stained glass windows. He has written the piece on Hindringham's impressive east window - see adjacent tag.
