Aylsham is a busy market town on the banks of the River Bure in Norfolk.

During the 14th century it was the chief town in the area for the manufacture of linen, then called "Aylsham Webb" or "Cloth of Aylsham".  This was later followed by woollen and worsted weaving.  It is now famous for its markets and auctions.

The Parish Church, the town's oldest building, stands in the town centre at the north-west corner of the Market Place.  St. Michael’s is an Anglican church with a parish of about 6,000 people within the Norwich diocese.

Major refurbishment projects during the last few years have not only enhanced worship but enabled the church to open its doors to the wider community  for concerts, exhibitions, bring and buy sales and the provision of tea and coffee during the summer months.

We are a friendly and welcoming Church celebrating our heritage but looking for new ways to worship creativily.
