Brampton: St Peter

Welcome to St Peter’s Church, Brampton, which  is one of Norfolk’s round-tower churches. The church is part of the Bure Valley Benefice. Brampton is a small community, but a very active one. Services are largely based upon the Book of Common Prayer.

The church sits slightly away from the village on a small promontory above the River Bure. The quiet churchyard is managed for biodiversity - there is a wonderful display of daffodils in March and wild flowers abound in the spring.

The round tower dates back to late Norman times (1066-1088) although the thickness of tower walls seems to indicate that the tower may have Saxon origins. The church has been the centre of religious life in the village for over 900 years.

We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, Kandi Kammoun who can be contacted via email: [email protected] or via mobile 07999 908646. The Diocese of Norwich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
