About Us

St Andrew Parish Church Wickmere is part of the Aylsham & District Team Ministry which is made up of 16 unique and individual parishes, centred around the Market Town of Aylsham which is located halfway between Norwich and the North Norfolk Coast.

Wickmere Parish Church (St Andrew) is part of the Itteringham Group of Parishes made up of the Parishes of Itteringham with Mannington; Little Barningham; and Wickmere with Wolterton. Each Church community serves their own unique village and each has its own style and rural vibrancy.

Wickmere, St Andrew with Wolterton, St Margaret (Ruin) stands away from the small community it serves. However, it's committed congregation are key members of their community and so the Church is very much part of the daily life of Wickmere.

The Church is full of memorials dedicated to the Walpole family who lived at Wolterton Hall

St Andrew, with its round tower, looks out in all directions. On a fine day the view of the surrounding countryside fills a person with hope - and, on a windy winter's day, it feels very desolate. Whatever the weather, the church has an assured look to it without loosing its sense of holy welcome. To be at our prayers facing out into the sky through the great plain East window is an unforgettable experience.
