St Mary's church is in the centre of the village of Bucknell. We automatically glance up at the clock as we go past to check the time. Unfortunately, a few minutes difference had developed over the year between the time on the clock face and the time that the bells rang the hours. Stuart, from Cumbria Clocks, came to service our clock and re-set the time. The mechanism inside looks intimidatingly complicated so it is fortunate that there are still some specialist firms to service church clocks.
