THE ST JAMES RE-ORDERING PROJECTMany of you will be familiar with the project to re-order the west end of St James by the installation of a kitchen, servery and toilet with disabled access. We also plan to create a space for community and social use. We are delighted to tell you that we now have the necessary plans and permissions to go ahead with the project in early 2026.The cost of the project is £110,000 to which the church will commit up to £40,000 of its reserves. Over the last few months we have worked hard to secure grants and donations amounting to an amazing £55,000. This means we only need another £15,000 to finally get this long-running plan off the ground. But we need your help! The church family has always been generous in its support to repair and improve our wonderful church building. We ask you to do so again with this project which can benefit the entire Colwall community. Would you please consider making a donation, no matter how small, to finally bring this exciting project to fruition? To make a donation please see the details on the attached brochure.
The PCC and APCM voted in 2024 to join Inclusive Church. The movement challenges the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality. We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.
