About Us

St Peter and St Paul's Church, Eye is part of the Leominster Team Ministry.

Services and Events to which you would be most welcome.

Eye Church, one of the parish's three Grade 1 listed buildings, is of great interest to historians and is soon to feature in a new privately commissioned book about the ancient family of Cornewall who were important landowners in Herefordshire in mediaeval times. It is an ancient C12th building in reasonable repair with a good heating system. A quiet, welcoming place set amidst some beautiful countryside, it has a peal of bells which are rung for some services by ringers from the district. Heritage Lottery funding and advice from Caring for God’s Acre have enabled a churchyard conservation project supported by the local community.

We have a small regular congregation and are always delighted when we have a baptism or wedding.  On sadder, but necessary equally important occasions, the church is used for funerals. The church and churchyard is stil held in great affection by visitors, many from all over the country, who make the pilgrimage back to visit the parish and graves of their families.

There is so much to retain with pride in our historic church in its beautiful country setting.
