Thank you to all of you who support Christ Church by caring for the building and the churchyard and by your financial giving. Without your support, it might well have to close. There are no pots of gold within the Church of England. We depend entirely on the giving of worshippers, parishioners such as you, and fundraising.

The church building is now open again for private prayer and we have services every Sunday. Please do feel free to spend time in the church grounds safely, being aware of God’s creation, gaining strength and inspiration from the peacefulness and beauty and the realisation that there is something bigger than us who knows us and cares for us.

The Parish Giving Scheme is an initiative being rolled out across the Church of England and here in Llangrove, we joined it earlier in the year. In the Parish Giving Scheme giving is by direct debit so it is regular, reliable, and becomes simply a part of regular outgoings. Moreover, an extra 20% is clawed back from the tax you have already paid. It can be cancelled or changed at any time and you may opt to inflation link it. Gradually it is gathering pace. 5 Llangrove donors are giving nearly £2300 a year, which becomes more than £2800 after tax is reclaimed, about 10% of what we need. It is all done very quickly and efficiently and your donation can be monthly, quarterly or annually.

Here’s what happens.

 We give you the forms.

 You set it up (easy – by letter or phone(0333 002 12710 direct with the PGS). You will have to quote the code for Christ Church Llangrove which is 180618240.

 The PGS sends your donation direct to the Church within a few days, and then a little later the Gift Aid.

 You receive a statement from the PGS every year.

 Sit back and relax. Job done!

This is the safest and most reliable way you can give to your church.

Some people may prefer to continue to make a donation. Envelopes with donations can be posted through the door of the Vicarage or Jenny Bibby’s house, The Beeches, opposite the school. 

We encourage you to think carefully about giving through the PGS as it is a really excellent way of helping to ensure we can keep the church alive and open for you when you need it and retain a Christian presence in the place where we live.
