Myndtown: St John the Baptist

Welcome to St John the Baptist church dating back the 12th centuary. It is considered to be unique as a country church as it was not "spoilt" by Victorian restoration and retains its thoroughly rural, simple look and feel. Once a substantial medieval village, the hamlet of Myndtown now has only the former rectory and a farmhouse with its barns.

It is within the Shropshire Natural landscape, at the end of a dead-end lane at the foot of the dramatic Longmynd . This makes it a place of silence, broken only by birdsong, the lowing of cattle and bleating of sheep. Even non-religious people feel it is a place of sanctuary from the modern world. Our church is open everyday for you to come and have some quiet time and we welcome visitors to all of our services.
