We have just one service in the Presteigne Group of Parishes this Sunday, 25 August (Trinity 4):11.00 Presteigne Festival Eucharist St Andrew’s PresteigneThis will be a very special service, featuring music led by the Choir of Royal Holloway, University of London, directed by Rupert Gough with organist Luke Cherry. They will sing an introit by Benjamin Britten, a mass setting by the Welsh composer William Mathias and a communion motet by Matthew Coleridge. But as usual there will also be plenty of congregational hymns.The preacher will be our very good friend the Very Revd Michael Tavinor, Dean Emeritus of Hereford Cathedral, now a resident of Presteigne and an accomplished musician as well as a gifted priest. He is sure to have an interesting take on the links and relationships between music and faith. Everyone is very welcome to attend the service, whether you are a regular member of our congregation, a visitor to the festival, or holidaying in or near Presteigne.
