It marks the official end of the Festal cycle of Christmas and Epiphany and our annual calling to mind the accounts of the birth and childhood of Jesus.Everyone is welcome to either of these services, but if you are unable to join us in person you can find A Service for Use at Home at Candlemas elsewhere on this page, together with the lovely reading telling the story of Simeon and Anna's encounter with the Infant Jesus and his parents.We hope you enjoy the service and experience something of the light and optimism of Candlemas.

18-25 January is the traditional Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.The Revd Michael Tavinor offers us an illustrated talk entitled ‘Confessions of an Ecu-maniac – reflections on Christian Unity over 60 years'.In it, Michael speaks of his work with different Christian communities over the years. The talk is on Wednesday 24 January at 2.00pm in the Baptist Church, Hereford Street, Presteigne, and will be followed by afternoon tea.
