We have just one service in the Presteigne Group of Parishes this Sunday, 30 April (Easter 4)11.00 Royal Songs of Praise PresteigneEveryone is welcome to join us for a joyful but reflective exploration of hymns on the theme of coronation. With the forthcoming Coronation of King Charles III in mind, the hymns will pick up on the King’s particular interests, aspects of his life story, or points in the Coronation Service itself. They include favourites such as ‘Jerusalem’, ‘Eternal Father, strong to save’ and ‘Crown Him with many crowns’, and are interspersed with prayers, Bible readings and a psalm. Our service is led by Reverend Stephen Hollinghurst who will set the hymns in context, and organist Michael Tavinor will ensure that we all enjoy a good, rousing sing as we look forward to the following weekend’s historic ceremony. If you are unable to join us in person, or would like to read through a more formal Sunday liturgy at home as well as attending our royal hymnfest, you can find a collect and reading for the day to go with the Short Service for Easter provided a few weeks ago, elsewhere on this page.
