Candles of remembrance, prayer and thanksgiving may be lit if you wish.Everyone is welcome to join us for any of these services. The morning service at Presteigne and evening service at Discoed will be in a slightly modified and shortened form to reflect the occasion and to enable people to attend the vigil.If you are unable to join us in person, you can find a Collect, Readings and Prayers for Day 10 of the Period of National Mourning elsewhere on this page. These will work with the Short Service for Use at Home provided earlier in the summer, but can also be said on their own.The Harvest tea and evening service planned for Lingen have been postponed until a later date.
There will be a Vigil in St Andrew's Presteigne this Sunday evening, 18th September – the eve of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's State Funeral – between 7.00pm and 8.30pm.This will be a time for silent reflection on the life and service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. There will be a short reading and prayers every 15 minutes, and we will observe the National Silence at 8pm.You are very welcome to join us, for as little or as long as you wish, at any time during the evening – especially if you would like to join with others for the National Silence.
A Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving for the Life of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be held in St Andew's Church, Presteigne at 11 am on Sunday 11 September. Everyone is welcome to attend, wther you are a regular church-goer or not.This will be the only service in the Presteigne Group of Parishes on that day.If you are unable to join us in person, you may like download the text of the service, including readings, which you can find elsewhere on this page.St Andrew's is open all day, every day for those who wish to pray or to light a candle in memory of the Queen.
