In 1615 Lady Anne Harington of Exton Hall made a bequest to All Saints Church including around 80 books, which formed the Oakham Parish Library, now held by Nottingham University. The exhibition will introduce Lady Anne and her family, her bequest and the library itself and will show examples of engravings and woodcuts from the books, together with illustrations of the Oakham Bible, currently held by Cambridge University
The exhibition can be viewed when the church is open. No charge, but donations appreciated.
Organised in association with the East Midlands Parish Libraries network, led by the University of Nottingham’s Manuscripts and Special Collections
