About Us

Wilford Church is a fellowship of people [part of the wider family of the Church of England] that meets and worships and prays together in Wilford, Nottingham. More than 250 people of all ages consider themselves part of our Wilford Church Family.

The church's formal name is St Wilfrids and we have a parish area that covers Wilford, Silverdale and a large part of the Compton Acres estate.

Although we meet in an ancient church building, our worship and life has a contemporary and relevant feel for all ages.  We have childrens' and youth activities, adult homegroups and activities for our older church members.  We run regular Alpha and Christianity Explored courses and we welcome enquiries for baptisms and weddings.  In everything we do we seek to remain faithful to the Christian Faith.

If you'd like to join us for one of our services then please just turn up - you'll be very welcome.  We meet every Sunday at 10:30 am (it takes an hour or so) and you're also welcome to join us for tea, coffee and a chat in the church hall afterwards.  On Sundays we also have an 8:00 am service for early risers and sometimes an evening service at 6:30 pm.  Plus monthly Thursday communions, a Pre-school Praise service and so on and so on ..........

We are also committed to being involved with our local community, especially our two Church of England Schools (South Wilford Primary and The Nottingham Emmanuel Secondary).  We run various community events too, at Christmas and in the summer holiday for example.
