Welcome to St Catherine's church!
Our church is now open daily during daylight hours.
St Catherine's Church stands in the centre of the main street, opposite the pub and is surrounded by its churchyard.
St Catherine's has a small but loyal congregation. The preferred service is Common Worship, Traditional Language. The congregation sometimes joins with neighbouring Muchelney for a Eucharist or a Family Service (which alternates between the two villages). When possible, refreshments are served after the service - including 'proper' coffee!
Church members are involved in many aspects of village life and societies.
A bi-annual 'Pet Show' and fete run by the church is a regular feature of village life, and the church sponsors the monthly Farmers Market, selling local meat, bread and vegetables, as well as local crafts such as pottery. Bacon rolls are available at the market, along with other refreshments.
The Annual Harvest Lunch is looked forward to, and during the Street Fair in early September, refreshments are sold in the church, often with a chance also for a climb up the tower!
"The parish of Drayton is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Bath & Wells’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
