CHORAL EVENSONG BY CANDLELIGHT Sunday 22nd March at 5.00 pm

The candles are flickering, the church is cold (!) and the music is hundreds of years old.   The atmosphere and sound are just as they would have been when the roof angels were newly-installed.

Music will also be played on the Wingfield organ.  This wonderful instrument was built in 2001 by Dominic Gwynn.  An original 16th century soundboard provided the inspiration and much useful information.  Further research and experiment produced an organ whose sound is as close as possible to that which would have been heard five hundred years ago.
