About Us

St Thomas à Becket Church, Church Street, Widcombe Bath BA2 6AZ

St Thomas à Becket is a beautiful small Norman church situated in one of the most picturesque and peaceful locations in Bath. It was built between 1490 and 1498 by John Cantlow, Prior of Bath Abbey. All who come here cannot help but be charmed by its aura.

Despite its peacefulness, there is a hive of activity by the dedicated members of the church who strive to maintain not only the building in its glory but also the other meaning of the word 'church' - the loving community and friendship that comes through active worship.

We welcome developments and hope that new members may feel able to join in at any level, from coming to church to enjoy our traditional yet informal style of worship, to participating in the wide range of Christian activities that we offer.

Opening times - As well as the regular Sunday morning services, the church is also open to visitors each Sunday from the beginning of May to the end of September, between 2.30 and 5.30pm.
