We are revising the Electoral Roll for the Parish of Emmanuel, Weston-super-Mare. This is a chance for new applications to be on the Electoral Roll. The formal Notice of Revision of attached.
If you are on the Electoral Roll you can attend the Annual Meetings of the Parish of Emmanuel (to be held this year on Sunday 19 April) and can vote in the election of Churchwardens and members of the Parochial Church Council (the parishioners' representatives who work with Tom our Vicar in taking our Church forward). You can also (subject to certain conditions) stand for election as Churchwarden or as a member of the Parochial Church Council.
You can apply to be on the Electoral Roll if:
- you are a baptized Christian,
- you are 16 or over,
- you are a member of the Church of England,
- and either:
- you live in the parish of Emmanuel (enter your address in A Church Near You if you are not sure if you live in the parish of Emmanuel), or
- you have regularly attended worship at Emmanuel Church for the last six months.
An Application Form is attached. Please make sure you complete the appropriate declaration and sign the Form. You can drop the Form into the letter box at Emmanuel Church or post it to the Church Office, 16 Montpelier, Weston-super-Mare BS23 2RH, or scan the signed Form and email it to [email protected] We must receive your completed Application Form by Saturday 4 April if you want to vote at the Annual Meetings. There is no fee.
If you are already on the Electoral Roll you need take no action.
Note that the Church Electoral Roll is nothing to do with the Electoral Register maintained by North Somerset Council and used for Parliamentary and local government elections.
