Churches Together 'March of Hope'

A timely opportunity for believers to share the message of Hope that Easter brings.

We will gather just before 12 noon outside Emmanuel Church. We will walk behind a cross down Oxford Street towards the seafront. We shall cross to the opposite (north side) Oxford Street pavement at Nandos, continuing walking towards the seafront. We will cross over Marine Parade and then turn right, walking along the promenade to the Grand Pier. We will then turn right down Regent Street and left along the High Street to the Italian Gardens. We arrive at the Italian Gardens in time for an act of worship for Good Friday from about 12.30pm. The service will be led by local church leaders with worship led by local singers and musicians.

If it is raining very badly, we will forego the walk and meet for the act of worship at Emmanuel Church at 12:30.

Emmanuel Church

We are a friendly, welcoming church in the heart of Weston-super-Mare. We meet every Sunday at 10.30 a.m. to pray, sing and hear God's word. We also have a mid-week service at 10.30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of every month. At some services (Holy Communion) those who wish to are invited to share bread and wine as Jesus taught us. We are an Anglican church, that is, we are part of the 'Church of England', but everyone is welcome at all our services. If you're not sure what happens just walk in and take part just as much or as little as you like (and stay for refreshments at the end).

If you live or work between Regent Street and Clevedon Road (so in Tesco, the Railway Station, Brunello Lounge, Bistrot Pierre or Revo, and in all the businesses along Oxford Street) we are your parish church so you are especially welcome. Also anyone in and around Ellenborough Park. The church is fully accessible (through the car park but ask our welcomers if you are not sure) and has an accessible toilet and baby changing facilities. Children are welcome (we have a small play area for toddlers and young children) although if you are interested in activities for children and young people you might want to check out Christ Church, Montpelier, our sister church. Unfortunately we can't accommodate dogs other than assistance dogs.

The one rule of our church: if you park in our car park to come to our service (which you are welcome to do) make sure you register your car on the gizmo just inside the door.
