During the months through to Pentecost we will be reflecting as a church community on the basics of the Christian faith and what it means for us. Though sermons, talks and reflections each Sunday across all our services, and through reflection of some key questions throughout the week, we seek to refresh and re-ignite our commitment to serving Christ.Go to https://www.backwellchelveybenefice.org.uk/its-all-about/ for more information, including access to recordings of the sermons and accompanying questions.
Cooking for Real People - the last two sessions have been re-scheduled for 12th and 19th March; it doesn't matter if you have missed some or all the earlier demos, you can still join and enjoy these two. It’s not just how to cook that some of us find challenging, it’s also how to cook economically. Help is coming from a caterer and provider of nutritious food on a budget. If you’re new to cooking, need to feed a hungry family or on your own and lost for ideas (at any age), this could be for you. It’s not Master Chef, it’s better than that; it’s for real people and real food. Sunday afternoons in Backwell Parish Hall from 5.00 to 6.00pm for six weeks starting 22nd January, Scotty will be demonstrating how to prepare simple quality meals easily and speedily from what’s available in the shops or in your cupboard, how to cook in bulk if you have a freezer and passing on tasty ideas. Meanwhile you can enjoy a cup of his homemade soup with bread. Each week Scotty will prepare 3 different meals, all of which will be available to take home on a first come first served basis for a small donation. Tickets will be on Eventbrite (link below) at a cost of £1.00 per adult and there will be things to keep the children occupied if you want to bring them too. All proceeds will go to the Foodbank. These really helpful sessions are supported by Backwell Parish Council and The Meeting Point.https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cooking-for-real-people-tickets-504605758407
