NOTICES

Dear Friends

I hope that as many of you as possible are coming to the Good Shepherd this Sunday, for our combined Sunday mass. It will be a great pleasure to welcome the Bishop of Oswestry for the first time to our parishes, and we shall also be joined by the Archdeacon of Wells who will formally license me as Interim Minister. For those who have indicated their attendance, a buffet lunch will be available afterwards. Don’t forget the service is at a different time for both parishes – 10.30am.

There are road works around the church, but I believe you can still get into the road from the town centre side, and parking is in Holy Rood school opposite the church. I hope to see you there!

+ Paul will be staying overnight at the Vicarage. He is coming down on Saturday rather than Sunday morning, so he can confirm Alys Williams, who has joined us since Covid, and who came to know of us through the streamed services. It will be lovely for her to be confirmed simply, as is her wish, in her church. We pray for her she begins a new part of her Christian journey

The Parish Magazine is included with this mailing; please do read it. Within it are several dates for your diaries: the Summer Fair on June 3rd, the visit of the Bishop of Bath & Wells to rededicate the bells. Sadly, there was not enough support for a Coronation Tea, so that has been cancelled, but we will give thanks for the coronation of His Majesty Charles III Evening Prayer on Sunday 7th.

Stamps for RNIB: Please don’t forget to recycle the stamps from your post into the box at the back of the church.

Thank you.

Outlook The parish magazine for May is available online. There are a few hard copies available at the back of church for those who cannot access it electronically.

Annual Meeting of Parishioners/

Annual Parochial Church Meeting

These two meeting will be held next Sunday at 11.30 following the Parish Mass. At these meetings, Church Wardens and Church Councillors are elected and reports made of the church’s activities in the past year.

Coronation Tea Sadly, there was insufficient interest to host this event, so it has been cancelled. Perhaps with the AMP and APCM, it was too much excitement for

one day!

Summer Fair Book the date now! Saturday 3 June, 11-2. Help would be much appreciated; please see Cheryl Grindle or John Godley if you can help. Lists will doubtlessly be appearing….!

Church Bells The Bishop of Bath and Wells, the Rt Revd Michael Beasley, will be coming to Holy Trinity to bless and dedicate the newly-refurbished bells on Sunday 11 June at Evensong at 6.30pm. Make a note in your diaries, and make sure you come along!
