Bishop Beasley is presently Bishop of Hertford in the St Albans diocese, and will be joining us in the early autumn.Organist We welcome Simon Gaunt to play for us this morning. Please let Liz know if you’d like to be involved, either as an ‘old hand’ or a newbie. Training will be given. NOTICESUkraine Thank you everyone who supported yesterday’s Bring and Buy in aid of the Ukraine. It was a very happy and successful occasion; the total raised will be announced at today’s services.Annual Meetings Reports have been circulated electronically; a few hard copies are available for the morning’s annual meetings after the Parish Mass. Please do attend them if you can.Organist we are grateful to John Eyles for playing this morning – it is most kind of him. Simon Gaunt will be returning as organist officically from 1 July, although he will be playing at some services before then.Gardening Don’t forget next Saturday’s ‘garden party’ tidying up the church grounds between 2 and 4. If possible, please bring your own tools and take the efforts of your own work home to dispose of! Ukraine Don't forget! There will be a bring and buy/coffee morning this Saturday between 10 and 12. Please do all you can to support it by displaying posters, leaflet dropping as well as coming along. All proceeds are in aid of the DEC's Ukraine Appeal and Taunton Welcomes Refugees. Help s need on the day as well as cakes etc.Thank you to everyone who has helped prepare the church and its services for Easter. It takes a considerable amount of work in so very many ways to enable us to celebrate Easter with such joy. Especial thanks to Jo Bailey for the wonderful Easter Sepulchre she has made and painted for the High Altar; Lisa and herteam for the flowers; Stephen and the choir for the music and all the servers. Please make every effort to come along - the meetings are usually over in 45 minutes. Organist Today is Stephen's last Sunday as our organist. We are so very grateful for all he has brought us since he has been with us. We wish him all the best for the future. Gardening Spring has sprung, and the church grounds are in need of sprucing up! Starting on 30th April (Saturday week), volunteers are needed to tidy the church garden. Tea/coffee and refreshments are available. This will be a regular event: 4th Saturday, between 2 and 4pm. NOTICESHoly Week Today is the start of Holy Week, the most solemn time of the Church’s year. Service times are different; please make every effort to attend as many as possible. It is only one week in the year! Particular emphasis should be given to Maundy Thursday (with the Watch until 11.00pm) and the Good Friday services. The Easter Vigil at 8pm on Holy Saturday will be followed by a parish party given by Fr Julian and Jane.Ukraine There will be a Coffee Morning and Bring & Buy in aid of the Ukraine, with all monies being raised going to the Disaster Emergencies’ Committee and Taunton Welcomes Refugees. Please support this in whatever way you can, especially in displaying posters (available at the back of church).Seder Meal Thank you to all who attended and helped at last night’s Seder Meal, returning after a Covid absence. As usual, it was a fitting preparation for Holy Week.Chrism Mass The annual service at which the Holy Oils are blessed and priests reaffirm their vows will be at Exeter Cathedral on this Tuesday, 12 April at 11.30am. This will be celebrated by the Bishop of Lewes, the Rt Revd Will Hazelwood who is among those bishops caring for us whilst there is no Bishop of Ebbsfleet. Book the date now and do come along.Outlook - May Issue Due to staff holidays (!) the deadline for contributions for the next issue of the parish magazine is this Tuesday 13 April.
