It was great to see so many people in church preparing it for our upcoming festival. Outdoor lights were hung, the pews dusted and polished and the ivy taken off the roof. The refurbished noticeboard was hung, the floors hoovered and best of all the windows were decorated by different members of the community. Lots of thought had gone into the windows and each has its own distinctive flavour. There's a Santa train and stunning displays of winter foliage lit by baubles and fairy lights. We were delighted that the youngest members of our congregation, Theo and Edith, joined in too bringing the Kittisford mouse to life with a pile of Christmas present and a big cheese.
The church is now all ready for our St Nicholas Festival weekend beginning at 6 pm on Saturday 6th December with a concert sung by Bute Voices. It promises to be a wonderful and varied programme of music, sung acapella. There is no charge for the concert, but we are collecting donations for the charity, "Music in Schools".
