About Us
St James' is a church in the Liberal Catholic Tradition of the Church of England and focused on the Eucharist. All are most welcome to all our services. We strive forward on our journey with God, going boldly where he leads us and seeking to spread the good news of His Son Jesus Christ. In the power of the Spirit we hope to bring the Love of God to our community.
We have strong connections with St James' primary school and uniformed organisations. We also have a Parent and Toddler group which meets each Tuesday morning during term time. We also have a branch of the Mother's Union, an altar guild, servers, a choir, bell ringers and many other organisations which would welcome enquiries.
Enquiries for baptisms and weddings can be made to Rev Emily by phone or email.
The Parish began in the Parish School in 1770 and the Church was built in 1855 and is a grade II listed building with a spire which is visible from all the surrounding area.
