Nick is currently Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Pannal with Beckwithshaw in Leeds Diocese. Please do be praying for Nick and his wife Joy (pictured) as they prepare to move house and as Nick prepares to take up his new post. Nick will be instituted and inducted into his new role on Sunday 8th December 2024 at 6pm, the location of the service will be confirmed in due course. They learnt all about Christian worship and each received a Blessing from Reverend Lesley. We hope this will lead to more visits and Parade services.
This year we have supported the Bishop’s Harvest Appeal with a donation of £100 and we seek to support The Good Samaritan School, Kampala, Uganda. Our links to Uganda St Anne’s Church has long established links with 2 projects in Uganda. Between 1994 and 1998 our church contributed to the building of St Luke’s Church at Mulago Hospital (the largest hospital in Uganda) in Kampala. This church is now self-financing but still grateful for the help we gave them. Members of St Anne’s are now supporting the Good Samaritan School. With the help of Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Blackburn and ‘The Erasmus Uganda Trust’, this school is now flourishing but still needs our help. 260 children (including over 60 boarders) attend the school which is in a village/suburb of Kampala. Their latest project has been to add a Health Centre to the school, not just for the children but for community use too. We would like to help them equip this centre with basic medical equipment as at the moment, it comprises of 2 rooms with a bed in each.For more pictures please click on the link! E.g., If your child is in year 4, and you are wanting to apply for a place at a church High School, parents must ensure they attend church regularly and have their attendance recorded by the appropriate people at each church. (St John’s - Doreen Whalley; St Anne’s - Clare Turnham) If you have a Pre-school child and you are wanting to apply for a place at primary schools such as Wheatley Lane School or St Thomas’ Barrowford, parents must also ensure they attend church regularly and have their attendance recorded by the appropriate people at each church. (St John’s- Doreen Whalley; St Anne’s- Clare Turnham). *Church attendance includes Sunday’s main services; Pizza and Praise at St John’s; Friday Faith and Fun at St Anne’s. All services at both churches count as Reverend Lesley is the Vicar of both churches and writes the faith reference. Most schools ask for a minimum of 2 church attendances per month by parents.
