A busy weekend at the heart of the Garden Festival saw the Church host Pendle Community choir on Saturday afternoon, and South Pennine Singers on Sunday afternoon. Both performances were enjoyed by everyone.Throughout the weekend teas and coffees were served. Children's craft activities were a great hit, especially the rock painting on a theme of Peace. Thanks to the Rev Jayne for organising this.The weekend ended with the Festival committee presenting the prizes. Roll on next year - its always the first full weekend in July
The Trawden Garden Festival is on Saturday and Sunday 5th and 6th July this year. There will be many events, open gardens and competitions throughout the village.The programme for events at St Mary's is:On Saturday 5th July from 10am until 4pm to serve refreshments. (Sandwiches, cakes, teas, coffees and cold drinks)The Pendle Community Orchestra will be playing in the church from approximately 1pm until 3pm, with a short break half way through.On Sunday 6th Julythere will be a Pet Service at 09.30am. Please bring your pets along to join in. (All pets welcome!!!). You don't need a pet to join in if you don't have one!From 10.30am until 4pm we will be serving refreshments again. The South Pennine Singers will perform from 1.45 to 2.20pm and then again from 2.40 to 3.15pm.There will be a stone painting craft table plus other crafts.We will be decorating the church and getting ready for the weekend on Friday 4th July from 12.30pm.If you are able to help at all, either with decorating/preparations, or serving/making refreshments on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, please let us know, by either calling or texting 07817053492, or reply to this email. Josh is a local, professional and award winning singer. Do come and hear him in the lovely setting of St Mary's Trawden, and at the same time help the Church raise funds for important repair work.The concert is on Thursday 28th September at 7.30pm.Tickets are £9 from post@wycoller.com or on the door. Card and cash payments accepted.There will be tea, coffee, wine, soft drinks and cake to purchase before the event or during the interval.
