Church of England Diocese of Blackburn St. John Blackpool

About Us

We are so much more than a building—we are a family of people who are following Jesus and helping others to know the ‘Life in Fullness’ that He offers to us. That life is not something in the future. It starts the moment we say ‘yes’ to Jesus’ call to follow Him. It is a life of hope in difficulty, light in darkness, joy in despair, freedom from shame and a life where we understand who we really are.

We want to help you live that life by giving you the opportunity to encounter God in our worship, to understand what the Bible says during our teaching, by offering you the chance to take part in Baptism and Holy Communion and by equipping you to serve and love others so that they can know life in fullness too. Pay us a visit and find out how you can connect with us. We really hope you’ll find a home with us!

Our weekly services

Wednesday @ 11am is a simple service of Holy Communion, with a 15 minute talk on a passage from the Bible. We usually start by singing a hymn. This is a formal service, where the leader will be robed.

Sunday @ 10.30am is our main family worship, with songs led by a music group, engaging bible teaching, groups for primary aged children & teenagers, and a toddler area for preschoolers. On the 1st Sunday we all stay together for our all-age worship.

We try and make the 10.30am service informal for visitors who may not have been in a church before, so the people leading will not be wearing robes. We also try to make this service dynamic and creative, so there'll be lots of use of video and contemporary worship songs as well as old favourites, that speak of the timeless truths of Jesus. Tea & coffee is served afterwards. Holy Communion is usually shared twice a month.
