The Revd Canon Damian Porter , Vicar

Father Damian has been the Vicar of this parish since February 2017.  He grew up in Staffordshire, and prior to ordination he worked in the motor trade, and as a bar/cellarman. After two years as a lay assistant in Dalton in Furness he trained for the Priesthood at Lincoln Theological College and was ordained Deacon in 1992 and Priest in 1993. Since then her served as a Curate in Pelsall near Walsall, and come to Lancashire in 1996, serving as Parish Priest and Vicar in Blackpool, then St Annes on Sea, then Warton and Yealand near Carnforth, before moving here to Morecambe in 2017. He is a member of the Society of the Holy Cross (SSC), a Priest Associate of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and an Honorary Canon of Blackburn Cathedral.

Fr D enjoys pilgrimage, having led many pilgrimages to the Holy Land, Rome and Assisi, Greece, Santiago de Compostela, and places in the British Isles including Walsingham and Lindisfarne. He enjoys real ale, cooking, supporting Morecambe Football Club and loves spending time with friends and family. He married Yvonne in 1990 and they have one son who lives and works in London.
