Getting here

If you can find Lytham's lovely old Windmill on Lytham Green, then you can't miss St John's Church - it's almost directly opposite, on the other side of the Beach Road.

St Johns is part of the Anglican Community, within the Blackburn Diocese, and the Kirkham Deanery. It is one of two Parish Churches in Lytham, and its Parish is, essentially, the older part of the Town to the east of Lytham Centre. It was a founder member of the Lytham Ecumenical Partnership, and enjoys an excellent working relationship with the other Churches in Lytham.

There are four regular services every week:

Wednesday at 7:00 pm Silent Prayer (in the Memorial Chapel) Thursday at 11:00 am Holy Communion Sunday at 8:00 am Holy Communion (BCP) Sunday at 10:30 am Parish Communion (BCP 3rd Sunday)

(BCP = Book of Common Prayer)

Residents or Visitors are very welcome at any of our Services. There is, at the back of the Church, a delightful screened-off area set aside for young children, and plenty to keep them occupied during the Service, under the supervision of a parent. On the second Sunday of each month, there is a "parade" Service for our two packs of Brownies and their parents.

The communal area at the back of the Church is used for coffee and biscuits following the 10:30 service, but also houses other activities, such as coffee mornings, and "fairs".  The font is in this area, and Baptisms are very frequent.
