Raffle Tickets: The Christmas Fair this year is on 25th November. Please return the stubs and money for the raffle ticket which you have managed to sell, as soon as possible. If you need any more, please ring Ruth who will be sure to get them to you. Gifts, bottles and chocolate for the day itself are being gratefully received.

Anne Newton: After 15 years of looking after the Broadway Rooms for us, Anne has decided it is time for her to pass on the baton. We are extremely grateful to both Anne and Ron who have exercised their Christian service in this way and we send them our best wishes as they enjoy, we hope, some well-earned free time.

All Saints and All Souls: All Saints’ Day falls on the 1st November each year and we will celebrate it at our Tuesday Communion this week. It is a reminder of our connectedness as Christians to the church and our conviction that there is a spiritual connection between those in Heaven and on Earth.

All Souls’ Day in the Church of England is when we remember our loved ones and all the faithful departed. On All Saints’ there is more of a focus on saints and martyrs, known and unknown, whose faith and example have been passed on to us through the ages.

On Thursday, we will be holding a service of Holy Communion at 11.30 am during which we will be marking All Souls, also known as the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed. There is a sheet at the back of church for you to append the name(s) you wish to be remembered during that service. Later in the evening there will be another service to which the families of all the funerals we have officiated at in the last twelve months have been invited. The names of their loved ones will be read out and they will have the opportunity to light a candle in remembrance. You are welcome to come along to this service to welcome and support our guests. We will be serving sherry and shortbread at the end of the service.

Please remember in your prayers: Louise Clark, David Newton, Peter Dell, Rev Jane Everitt, Rev Martin Keighley, Elizabeth King, Mark Price, Rebekah, Judith Wilkinson and Craig Abson. And the families of Marion Wilson, Derek Scrivener, June Manton and Derek Fenton whose funerals are due to take place.
