Elsie Matthias: Elsie’s funeral will take place in Church at 1.00 pm on Wednesday 30th October, followed by a committal at Fleetwood Cemetery and refreshments at the North Euston. For catering purposes, it will be helpful if you will annotate your name on the list at the back of church if you intend to come on to Elsie’s wake.

Harvest Lunch and Auction: What a splendid celebration we enjoyed last Sunday. Sincere thanks to you all for your most generous gifts. We are sending £556 to the bishop’s appeal which does actually top last year! And the food items donated have been passed on to Streetlife and the fresh produce to The Pantry in Fleetwood. Such a lot of time, energy and effort went into making the day special, leading up to and on the day itself. Thank you for all who contributed and supported in any way. Really big thanks again to David, Joanne and Claire who organised the event in the Broadway Rooms.

Christmas Raffle Tickets: With Harvest behind us, we begin to turn towards Christmas and the events that lead up to this important festival in our Christian calendar. Please start thinking about returning your raffle ticket stubs and money to the box at the back of church. If you need any more tickets, please see Ruth. All the stalls for the Christmas Fair have now been sold/claimed and it’s looking like it’s going to be another super event which combines local skills with the church family and the church family with the community.

Prayer requests: The lease for the Boathouse Youth to operate from the new premises has finally been agreed by all parties and this opens the door for the project to begin in earnest. Please will you pray that the issues around staff recruitment can be resolved and that God will bring the right people with the right skills to work in Fleetwood?

Please will you also pray for those of us working on submitting grants to help us fund the church tower project. Pray that we might identify the correct trusts to help us and the right people to support us. It is a very difficult and time-consuming process with lots of knock backs and not much joy at the moment. Please pray that we will find a way to finance the 150k we need.

Please also remember in your prayers: Jeff Chambers, Katie, Brian Brown, Mark Price, Debbie, Michael Carthy, Rev Jane Everett, Paul Sumner, Sandra Pratt, Michael, Karen, Jean Atkinson, Chris Kelsall, Maurice Larsen and Elaine Clarke. And we remember Elsie Matthias and her family as funeral arrangements are being made.
