Prayer Stations: In light of the call to pray both from our Diocese and from the national and international Church for the 10 days between Ascension and Pentecost, we have set up 7 prayer stations in St Nic’s Church. These prayer stations are there to help us focus on specific areas for prayer – from personal reflection to exploring different prayer models, to praying for our community of Fleetwood and for the world. There is a written guide as we come into church to show us where the stations are. There are items to read and prompts for prayer at each station. Please come and go round the prayer stations – take as long or as little time as you like but come with an open heart allowing the Holy Spirit to meet you in prayer.

Pentecost Walk: On Saturday 7th June Fleetwood Churches Together intend to walk from St David’s Church on Larkholme Lane, starting at 9.30 am to St Mary’s Church on Lord’s Street, taking in all the other churches enroute. At each church we will stop and be led in prayer before moving on to the next. The route is approximately 3 miles and it would be lovely if you could join us on this Walk of Witness through our community.

Deanery Synod: This is an open meeting of the Synod and therefore everyone is invited. The topic for discussion is in relation to the centenary celebrations of the Diocese of Blackburn in 2026. As part of the evening details regarding the ‘mission weekend’ which is to be held in every parish in September 2026 will be revealed.

Fleetwood Foodbank: Last week we were encouraged to consider committing to donating £10/m to The Pantry, Fleetwood’s Foodbank. Huge thanks if you have already responded. If you are a taxpayer then the ‘Gift Aid’ section of the form needs to be completed and handed to the Vicar who will ensure that it is recorded with the Trust. Forms are still available at the back of church.

Please also remember in your prayers: Martyn Westby, Brian Brown, Louise Gorley, Mark Price, Michael Carthy, Paul Sumner, Sandra Pratt, Chris Kelsall, Tracey Ashworth, Philip Wayman, Joanne Mallin, Harvey and Chris Cousins. We also remember the families of Heather Barker, Rob Williams, Barbara Grundy, Elaine Parker and Brian Perkes whose funerals are due to take place.
