Trinity Sunday – Today, the first Sunday after Pentecost is the day when our focus turns to the Holy Trinity — the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Although the word “trinity” does not appear in Scripture, it is taught in Matthew 28:18-20 and 2 Corinthians 13:14 and many other bible passages. The concept of the trinity can never be completely understood or rationalized, but it is clearly taught in Scripture. It is appropriate that this mystery is celebrated on the first Sunday after Pentecost, when the outpouring of the Holy Spirit first occurred. On Trinity Sunday we try to explain the clues written in Scripture which guide us to a fuller understanding of our triune God. The Father is God from the beginning (John 1:1); Jesus revealed Himself as equal to the Father in John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.” Together, they sent the Holy Spirit (John 14:26). “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).
God for us, we call You Father, God alongside us, we call You Jesus,
God within us, we call You Holy Spirit.
Prayer Workshop II: Saturday 21st June there is another opportunity for us to learn more about prayer and to deepen our spiritual connection with God. Vicky is offering different methods of praying and introducing us to some helpful resources. Don’t worry if you didn’t make it to the first session, you’re welcome to come along this Saturday.
Coach Trip: St Peter's and St David's, Fleetwood are arranging a coach trip to Beamish on Saturday 30th August 2025. Beamish is a world-famous open-air museum which brings the history of North East England to life at its 1820s Pockerley, 1900s Town, 1900s Pit Village, 1940s Farm, 1950s Town and 1950s Spain's Field Farm exhibit areas. The plan is to travel to Beamish by coach and spend the day there, leaving from outside St Peter's at 8am, arriving around 11am. The coach will depart from Beamish at 5pm, returning back to St Peter's around 8pm. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend who doesn't normally come to Church to get to know some other Christians. Visit www.fleetwood.church/beamish to book.
Please also remember in your prayers: David Jackson, Martyn Westby, Brian Brown, Pauline Brookes, Louise Gorley, Michael Carthy, Paul Sumner, Sandra Pratt, Chris Kelsall, Ruth Aspinall, Tracey Ashworth, Philip Wayman, Joanne Mallin, Harvey and Chris Cousins. We also remember the families of Elaine Parker, Marion Brookes, Elsie Coleman and Mark Price whose funerals are due to take place.
