THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
It is a very rare thing that I am lost for words, but you did that to me last weekend dear family of St Nic’s. You left me speechless with the amazing Broadway Rooms joyful celebration of fellowship, incredible food and hospitality, not to mention the entertainment – now you all know the actions for ‘Our God is a great big God’ and ‘My Lighthouse’! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed in any way – Judith and the team, those who set everything up and tidied away afterwards, all who provided the vast array of sandwiches and cakes and made the tea and coffee and served everyone so graciously.
And then, on Sunday, the wonderful presents, the flowers, the chocolates, the cards and the gifts, you overwhelmed me. A special word of thanks to Rev Carolyn for opening up this opportunity for me to serve at St Nic’s, I have received so much from God through you. I take the message of the cake, the forget-me-nots in icing - believe me I will not forget you, dear friends in Christ.
Using the words of St Paul: “I will always thank God for all of you and will continually mention you in my prayers. I remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labour prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” (based on 1 Thess. 1:2-3).
Love, grace and peace in Christ, Vicky.
The Bereavement Journey: Beginning on 2nd September, St Nic’s & St Peter’s have been invited to join Emmanuel Church which is running this short course for the second time. It is an award-winning series of films and discussion groups that gently guides people bereaved at any time through the most common aspects of grief and bereavement, enabling them to process the implications for themselves and discern next steps. It is suitable for people of any faith or none. It may be for you or you may wish to come along with someone you know who needs a bit of support. Please speak to the Vicar for more details.
Please also remember in your prayers: David Jackson, Martyn Westby, Brian Brown, Pauline Brookes, Louise Gorley, Michael Carthy, Paul Sumner, Sandra Pratt, Chris Kelsall, Carole Pilling, Tracey Ashworth, Philip Wayman, Joanne Mallin, Harvey, Maureen Baines, Jan Risley. We also remember Jean Mountford, Dorothy Sillis, Alec Pratt and Catherine Williams whose funerals are due to take place.
