As many of you are aware, the Vicar’s interim license to minister at St Nic’s expired on 4th July 2025.  Seemingly this was down to an admin oversight which has now been rectified. There will be a short, low-key service of licensing which will take place in church on Thursday 6th November 2025 at 11 am during which the Vicar will be reinstalled. Thank you for your continued support and prayers.

Youth Pastor: Last week this new post was re advertised across Lancashire and beyond. Please pray that it will reach some amazing candidates, especially the one who God is calling to Fleetwood to work alongside us in the harvest fields.

VJ Day: On Friday in Church, we held 2 minutes silence at 12 noon with the rest of the nation, as we remembered the many soldiers, sailors, and airmen who gave their lives restraining evil and opposing tyranny, during World War II. It was a time not only to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served, but also to remember the countless civilians whose lives were changed forever.   As we stood in silence, we were reminded of the words of Jesus: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9). May our remembrance inspire us to be bearers of peace in our own time, working for reconciliation in a world that still knows division and conflict.

There is to be a further memorial service this Saturday, (see above), followed by lots of other attractions in the memorial park.

Eilidh Patterson in concert: Saturday 13th September 7.30 - 9pm in St Chad's Church. Free admission (suggested donation £5). Spend an evening with Eilidh Patterson (pronounced EYE-lee), a warm engaging singer songwriter from Londonderry, as she shares her inspiring story of faith and performs songs from her albums Journey Maker and Safe Place. Tea & coffee provided.

Prayers: Some names have been removed from this list to make room for others who are currently very unwell or in special need of the Church’s prayers. Do speak to the Vicar if you want to add to the list. June Larkin, David Jackson, Brian Brown, Chris Kelsall, Harvey Stansfield, Sandra Foulkes, Maureen Baines, Lucy Ashworth, Carol Walters and Sarah Taylor. We also remember Mary McLellan, Kathleen Wigglesworth, Keith Wooler and John Walker whose funerals are due to take place.
